It had rained heavily the whole night. In the morning the roads were muddy and the potholes were filled to the brim. It was the day for the weekly market and Raju the farmer was riding his cart along the country road. He had to reach the market early so that he could sell his vegetables. It was very difficult for the bullocks to drag the load through the deep mud. On his journey, suddenly the wheels of the bullock cart sank into the mire.

Once, a Brahmin was passing through a forest. He suddenly saw a black cobra peeping out of an ant-hill. The Brahmin believed that snakes are a form of God and so he worshipped them. He went home and came back with a bowl full of milk. He put the milk near the ant-hill. He then prayed to the snake to come out and drink the milk. After praying, the Brahmin went back home.
